SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) has been the king of online visibility for years, but the game’s expanding. We’re now in the era of AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation).
- SEO still matters – Build authority, rank, and drive long-term traffic, but expect the grind.
- AEO dominates quick answers – Win snippets, “People Also Ask,” and voice searches with concise, trustworthy answers.
- GEO feeds the AI – Create content that ChatGPT, Perplexity, and others can summarise, cite, and trust.

Kind of glad I don’t primarily make a living from SEO, would be very hard to keep up.
If you’re only focused on SEO, you’re missing the other half of the field. Blend SEO for authority, AEO for snippets, and GEO for AI reach.
Easier said than done I suspect.
